Re: Acetal rudder bearings

Hi, If you search on 'bearings' on the Sigma 33 Facebook page you'll find some posts and replies I got about the same product on Ebay. In the end I bought a pair, but not fitted yet. I found something here http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.plasticmentor.com%2F134%2Fis-there-a-difference...

Re: Gel cracks

Hi, I can't comment on the Keel other than various anecdotes about them being bullet proof, more bolts than needed, and people pulling bolts only to find there was nothing wrong with them, see posts on here if you search. For the mast step, they can compress the deck, the old adage was if you can op...

Re: Hatches

I used these guys for a new acrylic (glass) kit for the main cabin hatch and will be doing the forehatch soon, was pretty simple to fit to the existing frame. I think Kuba Symanski used them for complete hatch replacement, give them a call. Not stupid prices. http://www.eagleboatwindows.co.uk/index....

Re: Basic Advice - falling at the first hurdle

Main Halyard for us is narrow gauge wire spliced to rope at the hull end, topping lift just rope. Pretty sure is similar for many others.

Did you buy her from Brighton by chance?

Re: Where is the coarse diesel filter?

Dave,

Is that a Yanmar you have now? Fresh Water cooled? I guess that's why you have a few more pipes!?

Be interesting to hear how it compares to Volvo?

Re: Propshaft Alignment

All understood, shaft's not bent or anything (it's new and checked), I can get 0.1mm feeler gauge equally around the new cutless bearing (not checked the gearbox coupling shoulder yet), so thinking the shaft can't be that far out and centrifugal force will centre it around the flow of water. Will ch...

Propshaft Alignment

Dear Forum, Having replaced my Cutless Bearing for the second time recently, I was wondering just how critical propshaft alignment is. On the hard, mine aligns pretty well with the gearbox collet (very slight upward lift) and has fairly even play at the P Bracket. I've not released the Collet Assemb...

Re: Where is the coarse diesel filter?

Keith, I've only got a photo to hand that doesn't quite show the primary 'coarse' filter, on mine it's hiding behind the lower wood divider attached to the yellow pipe, lower right side of the picture, but looks like this. http://www.asap-supplies.com/web_images/Products/Products/large/302001.jpg Th...

Re: Movement in the rudder

Or the tiller slipping on the rudder stock if it's not quite tight enough - fooled me that one for a while!
